Vision:

Unity of Garden Park Prayer Chaplains is a support network, dedicated to radiating Love to our spiritual home, our community, and our world.

Our Mission is to:

  • Hold Sacred Space
  • Lovingly Listen
  • Pray from the Heart
  • Hold in Confidence what is shared
  • and Grow prayer consciousness

by acting from the awareness of the Divine.

Action Statement:

We model spiritual awareness and support others in spiritual growth through confidential prayer partnering, community prayer services, workshops, and by holding the awareness of Oneness.

What is a Prayer Chaplain?

A Prayer Chaplain is someone who is available to support others on their spiritual journey.

Being a Prayer Chaplain is transformative soul work as it deepens their spiritual path through prayer and service.  No prior experience in prayer or praying with others is required to serve as a Prayer Chaplain.

A Prayer Chaplain is available at the end of every Sunday Celebration Service for private prayer.  They also pray over the prayer requests each week, before sending all requests on to Silent Unity to be held in prayer for another 30 days.

Prayer Chaplains training occurs annually in the Spring and chaplains make a commitment to serve for one year.  They also attend monthly meetings, where they support one another and receive additional training.

What a Prayer Chaplain is Not:

Unlike hospital, hospice, or military chaplains, Prayer Chaplains are not ordained, are not Board Certified by any nationally known organization and are not trained to counsel people. Prayer Chaplains are not trained to go out and "minister" to the community-at-large but are trained as a lay resource to help meet the pastoral care needs within his or her own church community.

Our Prayer Chaplain program is based on Rev. Lei Lanni Burt’s transformational Prayer Chaplain Program.
